How early/late can I do laundry?

Torrie Weissenbach: Would you like to hear a washer after 9pm? no! then neither will she. Have a bit of thought for the woman. Surely your not out of the house between 9am and 9pm all day. If you want a peaceful existence in your house, be ever mindful of the quality of life you would like, and the same goes for your neighbour. Start the washer after 9pm, or early morning and you will eventually start a constant battle. Whats wrong with the weekend, I do hope your not going to turn into one of those thoughtless people, who care so little for others....Show more

Marya Fehn: Washing machines and dryers are noisy and no respectors of time. Do it before 9 pm and after 9 am. That is very reasonable. You have been a good neighbour, continue to do so.If you did it say, 10 pm - I would complain if I lived below you.

Rocio Karvis: It would be easier if you'd just ask. 9-9 curfew sounds very reasonable. It is possible, however, that even if the spinning of the washe! r could be heard below in the laundry room, it might not be heard at all in the bedrooms. She might not even be so unfriendly if she thought you were concerned about her comfort in asking her opinion about this.

Samara Siewers: As good etiquette its best to do laundry during the hours you've designated, but sometimes laundry just has to be done. When thats the case just do it because its not like the machines will go on forever.I live in apartments and even taking a shower is a noisy racket, but I really dont like restricting myself of that priviledge. I feel if the people downstairs have a problem with it they'll let me know....Show more

Mark Villifana: Don't feel compelled to restrict yourself with rules. Do laundry whenever you have time and need to do laundry. If she has a problem with it she will let you know.
