Unapproved dental procedure?

Unapproved dental procedure?

answers 0:My wife had a dental procedure, kind of expensive. Non cosmetic. We now found out it was not preapproved. The dental plan provider says it was not neccessary and rejected the claim. My question are the patients still liable for this cost?answers 1:Yes they are.answers 2:Yes, dearie. Of course, you could raise a fuss with your dentist and maybe she will write it off or compromise, but typically it is the responsibility of the insured to ask the coverage question. The other possibility is to require your dentist to bat for you with the insurance company on the "required care" issue, but this is probably a loser under the policy, which likely requires pre- not post-approval.You can raise as much a stink with your dentist as you like, but when the smoke clears, you may need a new dentist.Good luck, sweetie....
