Why Is it Considered When Parents Arrange A Marriage It Is Called Arranged Marriage?

Aron Ramu: I have always wondered that.

Robin Weelborg: I think it is only to find some contrast between both expresions. When it is you who married, you're supposed to be doing that because you love the other person, but when it's your parents that decide who marries you, it is because there has been some ARRANGEMENT between the two families

Sherri Drakos: It's called an arranged marriage when the parents choose the spouse because the "arrange" for it to happen. Love or attraction doesn't necessarily come into the picture. When an adult child chooses to marry someone it is more often because they love someone....that's why it is called a love marriage.

Joesph Smithmyer: Because of it's use in porn, and in the more lurid tabloid press, 'tranny' conjures up certain associations and mental images, none of which are complimentary, or even neutral; they're all negative. Consider; the word 'f****t' refers to a man who is attracted to men. But it doesn't JUST m! ean that; if it did, it wouldn't make sense to use it as an insult to straight men. 'F****t' implies perversion, promiscuity, an affront to God, et.c. So no POLITE person uses it to describe a gay man. In exactly the same way, 'tranny' doesn't JUST refer to someone who is trans; the added associations (including slutty (hence it's use in porn), unfeminine [and also, paradoxically, hyperfeminine], fake, sexually perverted, deceptive, coarse, ugly, over-made-up, bitchy & aggressive, to name a few) mean that using it, even if not being intentionally offensive, is very insulting. If you don't think it is, try calling the next cis woman you meet a 'tranny' and see how she reacts....Show more

Len Bormes: It's arranged because it's arranged by the parents. I don't understand how that can be difficult to comprehend.

Robt Heemstra: In love marriages, the marriage is based on who you love and *choose* to marry. Why marry someone whom you do not love? What would be the p! oint?Arranged means it was set up for you without your consent! , regardless of whether you love the other person. That is similar to what was called a "shotgun wedding" in the South. If the daughter was pregnant, her father would force the baby's father to marry her. There were other reasons too.Arranged is just a shortened way of saying that the marriage was arranged for you and that you have no choice. Yes, when you and your fiance make the arrangements, that is arranging things, but that is a different definition of the term....Show more

Lourie Mcroberts: It was always a derogatory term. You may think that this is recent, but that's simply because you are unaware of how hurtful that word could be. So please don't use it, thank you

Mario Stricklan: It's derogatory because it is intended to offend. There are transsexuals, transgenderists, transvestites, etc. etc. and frequently people decide to reduce a whole group to just one word. You wouldn't use a derogatory term to someone of a different race, so don't use it again! st a different gender/sexual orientation.

Horace Escue: Lately news articles have asterisked out a few of the letters. This wasn't the case a few months ago.

Dick Baumgarten: Because adding "by someone else" to arranged is implied and therefore not necessary.

Ricardo Rozelle: I'm gay and I just want some more gay friends I have a lot of straight friends and every time I talk about cute girls they ussally feel really award if anyone has a phone you can text me if you want to give me your number I just wanna have more friends where there's no akwardness and I can just be myself thanks or if you know any websites I go on Trevor space.org its awesome and you can add me on there my name tatyana I'll give you my last name once I know you want to add me but if you have a phone if you want to give me your number I promise you I, the awsomest person to meet...Show more

Natalya Sydney: Interesting question....It should be called the same...Arranged Marriage.

Donte Schoenhals: Travelin Pete .... What I'm saying is when chil! dren Arrange theit own marriage it is called Love Marriage.

Leticia Laiben: Because It's not the correct way to say it. Transsexual.

Arlen Decorte: Try meetme, the website or the app

Nancy Mansell: People equate arranged with forced which is not true. Arranged can be a co-operative venture.

Susan Rambo: no idea... lol

Esteban Faggett: complex situation. research on to the search engines. this could actually help!

Germaine Tieken: Why Is It Considered Stupid Question When People Who Answer It is Called Stupid Question?

Neville Dautremont: How I love it when those with no claim to distinction or even to particular merit insist on being addressed with full, pompous honorifics and no abbreviations! You can tell, as when a pious whore gives you to understand that she has the professional dignity of a "sex-worker," that somebody's insecure about something. "Tranny" is actually quite a convenient term--and not in the least derogatory, th! at I can tell--which can mean either "transgender, transsexual, transvestite, trans-man, or trans-woman," depending on the context--and is especially useful when, as is so often the case, the exact condition of the creature referred to is uncertain or unknown to the speaker, or is in some other way inconsequential. I use "tranny" with a glad heart, and with no thought or intention of derogation, whenever my meaning is clear--or clear enough--in context, and in grateful preference to its many sesquipedalian equivalents....Show more

Irvin Guiles: yes it was the case a few months ago and it is even more the case now

Jefferson Sarson: When somebody calls me a tranny ******, or uses it in a negative way towards me I find it offensive.

Toya Braskett: Not usual. Also to be fair to humans, if he was really into you he probably wouldn't have minded going out through moving and finals. He may just have to be convinced..a Yeah is still affirmative, though. You've go! t to break it down for him - actually ask for specific plans when you k! now he's available. Then you'll get a more accurate response.

Tommy Durrenberger: for me...it depends on how it is used. as someone who isn't exposed much to the "porn" world i rarely hear it used as a derogatory. most of my interactions with the term have been positive....an affectionate, less clinical word for transsexual.insecure people can find almost anything offensive...personally, i find context to be the real issue.much love and hope. pj...Show more

Jonathan Schlussel: I went to a movie with this guy and had a pretty good time... (first date) after about 3 weeks.... (he had finals and moving and stuff) we ended up going on a second date went to dinner and then i took him to a lake, he seemed like he was having a really good time, and i was really having a good time, wasnt really any awkward moments we were both laughing constantly. it all ended really goodi waited two day! s after second date to say i had a good time and wanted to go and do something again sometime soon and i just got a "yeah" in return... every time iv talked to him i get short responses does this show hes not interested in me?? or is it usual to get these types of responses?...Show more
