Fritz Hawkey: We use a financial adviser and along with 40 other people attended a mid year briefing. Many of the investors were upset that the adviser did not have them in the Asian Market. The company's policy is to investigate potential investments by going out and speaking with the CEOs and staff. That this was not a good time. Well quite a few of these investors went and bought into Asian funds on their own. This last general meeting and I asked a few "How did the funds do?"Not well, we didn't know enough about the companies. Margy Sandquist: In general some form of international investing provides a better balance in! you portfolio.By investing in assets with varying characteristics (us vs Asia, bonds vs stocks, realest vs bonds, and so on) you are going to have a portfolio with less risk for the expected return than if you owned only one type of asset. It is kind of like not putting all your eggs in one basket.So yes, some amount of Asian investing should be considered for you.
